Would you like to work alongside other teams in our area for a fun half-day of robot building and test runs prior to your first competition?
Is your FTC team looking for a FUN way to showcase all the hard work going into your robot this season? Do you want to really see what it'll do on the field with 3 other bots?
If YES to any of these questions, then DON'T miss our scimmage event!
Please support co-opetition in our region by attending our SWVA FTC Scrimmage hosted by the Red Beard Pandas.
Saturday, November 21st at the Christiansburg High School
The event will be FREE as it will be sponsored by New River Robotics Association. The RBPs will find referees and scorekeepers. We welcome your unique award designs along with scoring recognitions.

The 2026-2027 Season theme is BIOBUZZ™ presented by RTX, part of this year's broader FIRST® CANOPY™ theme focused on nature, technology, and connected communities.
Teams are evaluated not only on robot performance, but their STEM outreach, control system, an engineering notebook, and a concept FIRST robotics calls Gracious Professionalism.
The season starts with a challenge release like this one in the 2nd week of September, with competitions running from December to February.
FIRST Tech Challenge is open to students from 7th to 12th grade and teams can have up to 15 students.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Volunteers are the key to inspiring today’s youth to become tomorrow’s innovators and technology leaders. A FTC Tournament needs 80 people to help in technical or non-technical ways. There is a volunteer role for you! Please directly contact the Event Coordinator to volunteer your enthusiasm and support!
FOOD - Volunteers are well-fed during this FTC Tournament. Here is what we are serving and when. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know. Friday Dinner - _____________;
Saturday Breakfast - coffee, tea, juices, milk with Continental breakfast;
Saturday Lunch - __________; Snacks and bottled water will be served throughout the day to keep volunteers energized!
UNIFORMS - Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. FIRST will supply volunteer shirts based on sign-up, tournament position and availability. Please show your pride by wearing your business or organization shirt. Most importantly, please wear a hat...the crazier the better!
